Question #2

Dear Joanne,

Thank you for the diet plan , I will start on Monday and let you know how it goes, howver I was just reading through it and had a few questions in regards to the list of groceries.Firstly, I cant have tuna or coffee , as I have allergies towards both, If I replace chicken with the tuna, will this be okay?

 Answer: YES,no problem :)

and with the coffee am I allowed to replace that with tea?

 Answer: YES! :)

And you’ve written down here mesclun salad and crispy noodle salad , now I will have a look at the shop tomorrow, but where do I find these,or for the crispy noodles do I have to make it myself and purchase them separately?.

Answer: It's in the pasta/noodles section. Found this picture from foodtown.co.nz so it's definitely available there. However I always buy mine at paknsave :)

Exercise - Is it really important?

Hi again guys and gals! Wink Let me start this post off by saying "WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY IT WAS TODAY!" For the third day in a row, Auckland received some sunshine again and I hope I don't jinx it by talking about it right now! It was a perfect day to go for a walk and exercise outdoors... too bad I had to be stuck in an office!

Anyway, let us talk about why exercise is good for you. First of all, I KNOW how boring you see exercising is and how it makes you feel lazy to do it. Believe me, even the sexiest and the fittest person in the whole wide world would've felt this way once in their lives. But did they give in? NO. Why? Because they know that it's all about self-control. 30 mins-1 hr of exercising a dayis all it takes to keep your body in tiptop shape! You still think that's too much? NO IT IS NOT!

FOR WOMEN

You can easily spend that 30 minutes: shopping, watching tv, doing your nails, washing clothes, taking care of the kids, fixing yourself in front of the mirror, picking what to wear, shopping on trademe... you know what I mean.

FOR MEN

You can easily spend that 30 minutes shopping on trademe, going to Mitre 10 and looking for anything you can buy, playing ps3, reading a men's mag, watching tv, just being lazy and sleeping... you know what I mean too.

SO BASICALLY, you get to have 23 hours and 30 minutes to yourself to do whatever you want! Just 30 minutes of  your time a day is all it takes.. SO WHY NOT right? Also, make sure you do something that is enjoyable. I used to do jogging and it was so terrible I absolutely hated it. Some people love it, I didn't. My reason was that I can never enjoy it because I always focus on how my heart is beating too fast and not the actual surroundings and the fun of it. So I opted for 5 mins walking and 1 minute jogging. That way I still get to keep my heartbeat up, but still get to have enjoyment.

Change the way you see exercising.. It ain't really that bad. Believe me Laughing So post here.. what workout do you think is the best to lose weight?

Question #1

I will be answering ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS regarding the diet on here so that the other dieters can read it as well and also so that you can create your support group Laughing REMEMBER, it is best to go on a diet when you're doing it with others! Wink

QUESTION: I worked out my BMI as 30.  Thats with my weight being 89kgs and my height 160cms.  Does that sound right to you?
ANSWER: That is quite right. A useful calculator is here on this website http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmi-m.htm

QUESTION: If  I do get hungry during the day I presume it is ok to eat any of the foods on the negative calorie food list?
ANSWER: That is correct! :) You may eat as much as you want from the negative calorie food list any time of the day!

Weight Loss Success Blogspot

Hello dieters, and welcome to our very own blogspot. Also, I really would like a place where everyone can communicate and basically talk about how they are getting on the diet.

Here is where you will get updates on:

a) new recipes

b) new weight loss success stories

c) your fellow dieter's progress

d) and other tips and tricks on how to maintain and lose weight forever!

UPDATE ON NEW WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS STORY

I have received just yesterday a heartwarming email from one of you dieters, which I cannot disclose her name until she allows me to. For those who would like to read her story, here is the original email:

Hi Joanne.
I just want to make a personal thank you.I had my son turn nine last weekend, we had a party for him, so we had a house hold of family and friends.I was given so many compliments on how good I was looking. In total of four weeks of being of this diet, I've lost six kilos, and lost at least 7 cms off my waste line, I've dropped from a size 14 some 12's to a comfortable sizes 10. some sizes are different so size 12 is sometime what I have to wear, but I have to wear belts!
I feel so good, I do get the odd wants, for certain foods, but I don't have to fight myself or talk myself out of eating them, I just don't even have to stop myself from given in. I can simple just say "na, I really don't need it". and I don't look back or get the second thought.I do find it hard saying no to alcohol, I was a big social drinker, I do treat my self though, I will be honest in saying so, but for some reason, I really don't enjoy it as much as I did. " I guess that helps"
I really feel confident, and proud of myself, especially when I have people compliment on how good I'm looking.
So thank you so much, I will continue to do well and loose my last 5 kilos, I am so looking forward to summer this year, I can sit in my canoe and look down now and not see my stomach rolling over my shorts!!!!!!
Thank you again, you really have made a good impact on my heath. I wish more people knew about this diet, and know how good it is! I'll spread the word!
With thanks and kind regards
NAME WITHHELD
